The Comprehensive Center for Brain Health is a new center under development at the University of Miami. It will be a Clinical Translational Research Center for brain aging and neurodegenerative disease. This new state-of-the-art facility is being built adjacent to a well-established UM clinic that includes cognitive-behavioral neurologists, a movement disorder neurologist, and a neuro-ophthalmologist.

The CCBH will house a state-of-the-art research space specifically designed to conduct clinical trials, longitudinal studies, and patient-oriented research projects. The CCBH includes an infusion suite for clinical trials and patient care; optical coherence tomography; ultrasonography; a computerized gait and balance lab; audiometry; ambulatory sleep lab; biospecimen processing and storage facility, and a research pharmacy.

James E. Galvin, MD, MPH

Dr. Galvin is a Professor of Neurology, Director of the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health, and Neurology Cognitive Sciences Chief for Palm Beach and Broward County at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UM). With over 25 years of experience in LBD clinical care and research, his research has focused on studying the underlying cause of disease and how to improve diagnosis, characterization, and care of patient with LBD and their family caregivers. Dr. Galvin is a member of LBDA’s Scientific Advisory Council and Board of Directors.
