Do you want to know more about what the federal government is doing to address dementia? Consider attending a meeting of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer’s Research, Care, and Services. The council meets quarterly to discuss the effectiveness of government programs targeting the needs of individuals and caregivers coping with the consequences of dementia

The next meeting of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer’s Research, Care, and Services will be held on January 25, 2021, at 1:00 pm EST. The Advisory Council will hear presentations on the impact of COVID-19 on people living with dementia, health disparities in dementia research, and the implications of new technologies to identify Alzheimer’s disease through a blood test. Dr. Holly Massett, Senior Advisor for Clinical Research Recruitment & Engagement in NIA’s Division of Extramural Activities, will also be making a presentation on NIA’s clinical trial recruitment activities as part of this meeting. The meeting will be webcast.

Individuals who wish to make a public comment should register by emailing your name and organizational affiliation to napa@hhs.gov no later than Thursday, January 21. Registered commenters will receive both a dial-in number and a link to choose from to join the meeting virtually. Comments can also be submitted to be read during the Public Comment session; they must be received by January 21.
