Demystifying Lewy Body Dementia: Women in the Spotlight

May 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm EDT

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a common type of dementia that you don’t hear about often. Although sex and gender play an important role, experiences of women do not get adequate representation in LBD research.

In recognition of Women’s Health Week, we turn the spotlight to women. Dr. Ece Bayram will present what we know about women in LBD, followed by a panel discussion with women from the LBDA community who are living with Lewy.  Topics will include how sex and gender come into play for LBD, what women experience in the LBD community and how women’s experience can advance our understanding of the disease.

We welcome you to join us to learn about the gaps, needs and future directions for women in the LBD community, and share your perspective to enhance the discussion and push the field forward.

At the end of the webinar, you will be able to:

  1. Compare the experiences of women and men with LBD.
  2. Outline the needs of women in the LBD community.
  3. Plan and support efforts to enhance representation of women in LBD research and outreach.
