Post Exelon tablets vs Exelon Patch
It's going on the 3rd week since Frank change from Exelon 6mg x2 to 9.5 patch. The first few days were a nightmare. Things straighten out some but he walks around with his head hanging, he's like a walking zombie and can't seem to find the words to let me know what he wants. He said "I just can't think anymore", and I guess that's the best way to discribe it. He's had a lot more difficulty trying to do any task and understanding what I'm telling. I talked with the pharmacist and he didn't think the side effects should differ between the tablets and the patch.

I plan on emailing his Dr tomorrow but the thought of changing meds makes me nervous, our history of med changes usually come with several days of nightmares, as Diane C. has just said.

I just looked at the book by Maria Shriver, "Just Who Will You Be"? That's an easy one, I'll be Frank's caregiver, (till death do us part).

Take Care, Gerry

Robin, I'm hoping that's what Frank's Dr. suggests. I see so many are taking a number of meds that seem to be working for them, but I'm hesitant to make changes. Frank is also on 5mg Zyprexa, the dose started at 2.5 and increased to 15mg and then back down with no noticable change either way, so his Dr. said he's going to eleminate it soon.

My husband (till death do us part)....uses 1/2 half a patch per day and has been doing well for about a year. He's had the LBD for at least 3 years tho and can't process directions at all.
