 LBD and ulcers
My Dad was diagnosed with LBD about 6 months ago. We have been in the hospital for what my Dad thought was a heart attack - to the hospital drugging him up with haldol because he was not behaving. Even after we asked them not to. The man was kept in bed for over 12 days so he lost most of his walking ability. He now walks on his tippy toes. Our new problem is the other night Dad was having awful pain in his stomach. We again took him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with a perforated ulcer - they are trying to correct it without surgery but that too may have to happen. He is currently taking morphine and now the pilling has started again and the clumbing out of the hospital bed - reaching for things that are not there. We were so happy with hos progress and this has to happen. Has anyone with a loved one with LBD had an ulcer or have to had surgery and the effects it has on your loved one. Any help will be so appreciated.
