Post I'mnotme
I'm lying in the bed crying as I finally figure out that I need a support group from others who are living with Lewy body. Two years ago my husband who is 26 years older than I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease then after the hallucinations became worse and the medications were not helping and after sessions with a Lewy body specialist he was diagnosed with Lewy body. You see I am a nurse practitioner and I had already suggested Lewy to his neurologists who after several months finally started to agree with me and here we are. I don't know how to deal with the constant emotions and paranoid thoughts that continue as if on a roller coaster. Today I took my car over one hour away to be serviced and when I got there my husband had called the service man to make sure that was were I was going. According to my husband I have had a relationship with every man I see and he stops them and questions them about it. He has even stopped the police who monitor our neighborhood and asked him. No mater what I say or do he doesn't stop. We have been married for 25 years and we have a 22 year old son who is away at college and doesn't know the extent of sick his daddy is. Thanks for listening.

I understand this is a very difficult time for you and your son. Having a support group can be very helpful, especially when dealing with symptoms that are so puzzling. Delusions of infidelity are common in LBD, although I realize that may not provide much comfort when you are dealing with them so frequently. Many times care partners will struggle with delusions and take it personally. You have to understand that it is the disease which causes him to behave in such a manner.
If you are looking for an LBD support group in your area, visit our support group listing page:

If you are in need of some one on one support and guidance, please call our Caregiver Link 800.539.9767 or email support@lbda.org
