My father was only 50 years old when he was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. He shared such amazing passions that I have grown to love.  Unfortunately, he'll never meet the loves of my wife and children.  He won't know I climbed Mount Everest all in awareness for what he is going through. 

It's been a very emotional journey that do not want to see another family go through.  I'm doing all I can to raise funds and awareness with the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Read more.

The 21st Century Cures Act Becomes Law

Exciting news out of Washington D.C this month when President Obama turned a critical healthcare legislation into law. The 21st Century Cures Act will expedite the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) review and authorization drugs and medical devices. It also provides vital funding for initiatives such as dementia research, Vice President Biden's "Cancer Moonshot, and the Precision Medicine Initiative. In addition and of utmost importance in LBD, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is now mandated to create a new database helping to track and understand prevalent neurodegenerative diseases like LBD. 

The Lewy Body Dementia Association applauds the passage of the 21st Century Cures Act and the increased funding it brings to the FDA and CDC.

There are four actions you can take to be an engaged Lewy body dementia (LBD) caregiver.
