Happy Birthday dear Dad
Today a party was to be planned
Food, family and friends
Laughter, memories and stories
You were to turn 75 years old
Your life is what we were to celebrate
Unfortunately that was not to be
The Lord figured that you were needed elsewhere
Maybe his intent was to spare you from the coming appalling demise
We were losing pieces of you each day and every day
No matter, your spirit shall forever remain with us
The good days and bad, I am so grateful for all the time we had
On this day, we will sit with you and wish we could bring you back
Wondering where all the time has went
We’ll cry and wish you hadn’t died
You tried to be Dad, Yapper to everyone, eventually it was too much
I believe you left just in time
In haste Lewy Body Dementia was stealing you away
Thank you for holding on as long as you did
One day, may the Lord bring us all together once again
Love you Dad
xoxo
