2010 ADDF/ LBDA Lewy Body Dementia Biomarker Research Award
The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation and the Lewy Body Dementia Association are issuing a Request for Proposals for the 2010 ADDF/LBDA Lewy Body Dementia Biomarker Research Award. This award will provide $100,000 for one year of support to catalyze a research project focused on developing innovative biomarkers that aid in early diagnosis, detection and disease monitoring of Lewy body dementia. Applications may be submitted by non-profit academic institutions and for-profit biotechnology companies, both public and private, worldwide.
Interested applicants must first submit a Letter of Intent electronically via the ADDF Web site, deadline Nov. 1, 2009. Deadline for complete applications is Dec. 1, 2009. Applications will be confidentially reviewed by ADDF and an external Scientific Review Committee including members of LBDA’s Scientific Advisory Council. Applications from biotechnology companies will be additionally reviewed by ADDF’s external Business Advisory Board and awarded as a Program Related Investment. The award recipient will be publicly announced in spring 2010.
ADDF and LBDA seek to work with prospective applicants to ensure appropriate and qualified programs of interest meet their partnership objectives. An inquiry with ADDF scientific staff is therefore encouraged prior to application submission. More information can also be found on the ADDF Web site.
