Making a Difference - One Person at a Time!

If you have ever wondered what one person can do to help raise awareness about LBD, then you’ll be interested in Barbara Hutchinson’s story.

Barbara and her husband, Bill, who has LBD, live in Alaska. As she was preparing to retire from her job as an RN, she was struck with the realization that she would finally have time to get more involved in educating the public about LBD. She became inspired to drive across America with Bill, telling his story.

She has named her project the “Lewy Body Dementia Drive Across America” and expects it to take about a year to complete. Her goal is to speak at churches, Lions Clubs, and other community organizations in towns across the country, educating the public about LBD and raising money for the LBDA.

She got her feet wet by exhibiting at a local health fair and speaking at her church. Barbara and Bill will travel from Alaska to Washington at the end of May, and begin their adventure by spending about a month in Washington and Oregon visiting family and making more speeches.

Stop back often to hear more about Barbara’s travels and how one person really can make a difference!

In hope,
