In honor of Dr. Fritz Jacob Heinrich Lewy’s (1885-1950), the renowned neurologist and neuropathologist for whom the aggregations of misfolded alpha-synuclein proteins in the brain, now known as Lewy bodies, were named, LBD patient-advocacy organizations from around the world are coming together on January 28th to raise awareness on World Lewy Body Dementia Day.
Lewy Body International is a global network of Lewy body dementia (LBD) patient-advocacy organizations from eleven countries focused on promoting awareness and providing education on LBD. Visit lewybodyint.org to learn more about our global efforts to build awareness and increase understanding of LBD, or follow on Facebook.
You can also get involved in raising awareness by engaging with LBDA’s online community. Follow us on social media and share our posts. Share this email with your friends, family and care partners and encourage them to sign up for LBDA’s monthly e-newsletter.
On World Lewy Body Dementia Day, together, we can improve the lives of those living with Lewy.
