Presented by the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC), Lewy Body Dementia: Navigating Diagnosis, Care Strategies, and Essential Support webinar will cover key aspects of Lewy body dementia (LBD), including symptoms, diagnosis, and care considerations, while highlighting the real-life experiences of a former care partner who navigated the complexities of LBD within her own family.
You will gain valuable perspectives on the challenges faced by individuals living with LBD and their caregivers and gain practical strategies for providing compassionate, informed support.

Julia Wood, MOT, OTR/L, Lewy Body Dementia Association’s Director of Professional & Community Education
Julia Wood, MOT, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist and international presenter specializing in Parkinson’s disease and related dementias. She leads professional and community education at the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) and serves on multiple advisory boards, including the International Neuropalliative Care Society and Pennsylvania’s Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Related Disorders Advisory Committee. Julia also contributes to clinical guidelines and training programs, co-authoring the first AOTA Practice Guideline for Adults with Parkinson’s Disease and serving as faculty for LSVT BIG® and the Parkinson’s Foundation Team Training program.
Helen Bundy Medsger, Former Family Care Partner; Caregiver Support Group Facilitator for the Lewy Body Dementia Association
Helen Bundy Medsger was the care partner and health advocate for two generations of her family who lived with Parkinson’s disease with Lewy body dementia. Her 35+ years of experience with the disease includes being an LBDA support group facilitator, educational speaker, an advisor to multiple academic institutions, and a staunch advocate for and participant in research. Her unwavering commitment to the Lewy body dementia community resulted in her being named the LBDA’s Volunteer of the Year in 2022 and being appointed to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Advisory Council on Alzheimer’s Research, Care, and Services where she sits as the Chair of the Long-term Services and Supports Subcommittee.
