2019 LBD Awareness Month | Lewy Body Dementia Association LBDA

2019 LBD Awareness Month

October is Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) Awareness Month and this year's theme is Love is #GreaterThanLewy. Everyone diagnosed with LBD struggles with the journey, but they're not alone. Whether the support they find is from a spouse or other family member, a friend, medical professional, or Lewy Buddy, those with LBD always have someone to lean on. This LBD Awareness Month, we're shining a spotlight on those bonds while spreading knowledge of the disease.

No matter the obstacles faced or the challenges tackled, you are not alone. There are 1.4 million affected by LBD in the U.S. alone. The bonds we share within the LBD community help us spread awareness in the medical community, increase research funding and support those still on their LBD journey. Together, we are #GreaterThanLewy.

How to Get Involved

Mismatched Socks for Misdiagnosis Awareness

LBD is the most misdiagnosed form of dementia and to bring attention to this, we're wearing Mismatched Socks for Misdiagnosis Awareness. Get your friends, family and coworkers involved by challenging them to wear mismatched socks.

You can take this a step further and charge them a one dollar "fee" for not wearing the mismatched socks. Then donate the funds to LBDA to continue our mission of raising awareness, promoting scientific advances, and supporting the LBD community.
