LBDA BOARD PRESIDENT MICHAEL KOEHLER NAMED CEO

Atlanta, GA—12/14/15—Todd Graham, vice-president of the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) Board of Directors has announced that Michael Koehler has been named chief executive officer (CEO) for the association. “Mike, who has been our board president for the last three years,” is the ideal candidate to lead the association,” said Graham, who headed up the national search committee for the new position. “After reviewing all the candidates nationwide, we found the most qualified candidate within the organization,” he added.

Koehler has been a board member for the LBDA since 2011 and had a working relationship with the association even prior. “In the past several years, the association’s smaller size enabled the volunteer board members to effectively lead,” added Graham. “Due to the association’s dramatic growth, largely resulting from Mike’s board leadership, a CEO is now needed to lead the organization in this new, exciting growth phase,” said Graham.

“Mike has made major strides in bringing increased attention to Lewy body dementia and the LBDA, securing first-time inclusion in governmental dementia initiatives, launching a multimedia promotion campaign, and pursuing and achieving grants and other funding,” Graham added.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be named CEO of the LBDA,” said Koehler. “I look forward to continued growth in organizational structure, revenues, reach and impact. I’m proud to say that five years ago the association’s revenues were at $300,000, and today they’re over $1 million.”

Koehler came to LBDA with 15 years in senior level positions at OptumHealth Education; Hospitalist Conferences, USA; and the American College of Physicians. He additionally has a cumulative 20 years of experience as a regional and national sales manager in the publishing field, including a stint at the Chilton Company, and as an advertising director for the IEEE Computer Society. Among his accomplishments in each position and at the LBDA is a strong record of success in corporate strategic planning and revenue generation.
