Dementia predicted to double in 20 years

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias will affect 115.4 million people by 2050, reflecting a rate of increase higher than previously calculated, say researchers at advocacy group Alzheimer's Disease International. The organization called on the World Health Organization to declare dementia a health priority and focus attention on the costs of the disease, estimated at $315 billion annually.
