Welcome to LBDA's Discussion Forums - Read this post first!!
If you are a first time visitor, we are glad you are here! This is an excellent place to share your questions on LBD, and pass along any caregiving tips and LBD information that has helped you along the way. Please read the forum guidelines found here: http://community.lbda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11 and then browse the different forums on Symptoms and Diagnosis, Behavioral Issues, and Medications. Donât forget our Respite Room is available for any non-LBD topics as well! We strongly recommend two key articles (written by members of LBDAâs Scientific Advisory Council) as excellent educational materials for caregivers. In fact, many of your questions about LBD may very well be answered in these two articles! You can read a comprehensive article on diagnosis and treatment of dementia with Lewy bodies by Mayo Clinicâs Dr. Brad Boeve here: http://lbda.org/content/lbd-requires-comprehensive-treatment-approach. The second article, by Tanis Ferman, PhD and colleagues at Mayo Clinic, addresses managing the behavioral challenges of dementia, and can be found here: http://lbda.org/content/understanding-behavioral-changes-dementia. Please remember that this forum is a caregiver-to-caregiver resource, and is NOT intended as a substitute for professional medical advice. Any suggestions you read here regarding diagnosis or treatment options (including those provided by LBDA volunteers) should be discussed with your doctor, to find out if it is appropriate for your particular situation. The forum moderator is Irene Selak, who works hard to make all members feel welcome and keeps the forum free from spam. (Please do let her know if someone is posting links to commercial or inappropriate sites, so she can delete the post and notify LBDA.) Then I know I am in the right place, since Dr. Boeve is one of my husband's docs....God bless.

I don't post links any more to Boeve's paper because everytime the LBDA does a website change, the links die. So...I suggest going to lbda.org and do a search for "Boeve 2004 Continuum" and you'll see it among the results list.

Re: Welcome to LBDA's Discussion Forums - Read this post fir
I wondered why you didn't give a url, Robin. Thanks for explaining.
Right now the search for "Boeve 2004 Continuum" returns 21 choices and it isn't easy to know which one to select, because it does not use the word Continuum in the description. It may help to know that the title in the search results is Diagnostic Review & Medicine Management of Dementia with Lewy Bodies That takes you to a longer description, with a link near the bottom to see the full article.

We are just trying to explain how to find this very useful document. Look on Pat's computer is probably not the right answer.
