 Re: Stages?
WOW!! Guess What? I went into the hospital today and there was Ron, sitting up in bed, talking and had eaten his breakfast! He was talking, goofing off, smiling and laughing! Talk about joy! He is still tired and I realize he will not "come all the way back", but he is back. Let me tell you, I have been laughing and smiling all day.

 Re: Stages?
Katie- I'm so happy for you!! I remember going through this with my mom last fall (twice) and both times got myself all geared up for much worsened condition, called all my siblings to prepare them, etc... and both times she got better. I'll never forget the relief I felt when I walked in to her hospital room one morning and she was sitting up in a chair, bathed and eating breakfast and when I asked if she knew who I was she said "Ellen!". When I had gone home the night before she said my name was "thigh". Anyway, I just had the biggest smile all day!! She has been doing really well for the last 6 mos. I have no idea how long this will last, we just enjoy it while it's here. If someone had tried to tell me last Sep or Dec that she would be doing this well cognitively, for this long, I wouldn't have believed them. Ellen
