Post A Note from the Admin
I know that many of you have noticed the bogus users who have signed up on the forum. We have tried a number of measures to stop them, to no avail. Therefore, all registrations now require administrator approval. Although this will cause a brief wait for new registrants as they wait for their registration to be approved, it will result in a better system for everyone.

I have eliminated all of the obvious spam accounts, but there are some that are hard to tell. For safety's sake, don't click on any links that seem suspicious, especially those ending with .ru. If you have a problem with a specific post or user, please notify the administator immediately and we will address the issue.

Hi Sallyanne,
I finally got through to Irene. She must be our lucky charm. I tried to write to you before to answer your email...
Yes, that was me...I answered your email...I need to be careful of what I say on these sites for fear of family members reading it and causing a stink with poor Mom...
So, I am looking into alternative options...like a different more discreet name....which I should have done in the first place....dummy me...
Well, I will talk to you soon...

Hi Irene,
I don't know if you saw my post or not, about seizures late in LBD. My husband is rolling his eyes back, twitching and passing out. Doctors are trying to figure out what is causing it. One said that it is due to getting up too fast!! The staff at the nursing home tell me that he has had several while just sitting. In your experience is this a charistic of LBD? I am stumped by this and the doctors, seemingly lack of knowledge. I have searched on line for the combination but find nothing of the same.
Thanks,
Elaine (attilla)

Hello ALL,
Just wanted to announce that my husband passed away on Oct.2,2007.
He was in such a sad condition, it made my heart ache to see him. His LBD finally caused him to have trouble swallowing, thus pneumonia....
Thank you so much for the support, may all of you and your loved ones have peace one day.
Elaine Bushman (attilla)

Post Re: A Note from the Admin
Hi; I'm new to this. My husband has Parkinson's with LBD. He has moderate dementia according to the Nurse Practicioner at the Geriatric Clinic. We live in Ontario Canada. I find that I cannot reply to other's posts. I was a RN up until 6 years ago when I retired to look after my husband. My husband goes to a Day Program two days a week for five hours a day. He still does many things for himself but is increasingly confused as the day goes on. His Parkinson's symptoms seem to be unchanged over the last several years which leads me to believe that this is LBD with Parkinsonianism. The Neurologist says it is either/or. Since he is a specialist in Movement Disorders, he feels that it is not really necessary for us to continue to see him. My husband was getting agressive and is on Seroquel at night. He wanders around our condo at night but so far has not left the unit to my knowledge. We have live security and most likely they would return him to our unit if he tried to leave the building, provided thay see him. He has a Medic Alert bracelet. How do I go about joining in a form. How do I tell what stage he is at and where we are in this disease process. He had some memory loss starting in 2007 and it has gotten to the point that he cannot retain anything for more than a few seconds. Unfortunately my background is in Cardia Care and Rehabilitation so I do not have a good background in geriatrics. AnneN :?:

Hi Annie - Welcome! You might want to put your intro. under the intro. heading so that more people will read it. You've posted this under "Notes from Administrators" and I doubt people look here very often - note the posting just above yours here was made almost 7 years ago! When you have specific questions or suggestions, look for the area headings that best fit your communications.

Read as much in this forum as you can, and I'd start with the topics most important to you right now. There was just a discussion last week about stages, so take a look through recent posts and see what you can find.

Sorry for your need to be here, but so glad you found us. This forum is a big help information-wise and well as personal support for CGs (caregivers). Lynn

Yes, go to Board Index and of all things, there is an area called "Welcome" and the 3rd topic under Welcome is "Introductions". LOL You're probably too stressed to see it. That happens. Take a deep breath and try to relax.
