Lynn, I understand what you mean. He's looking at boats now! He says "maybe I can drive one of these"...oh boy. And yes, driving in the pouring rain surrounded by eighteen wheelers is very nerve wracking! I'm just glad it wasn't dark out. That's the worst!

Well, depending on his physical abilities and staying in shallow water, it might be something you could both do together! Pat, I don't think that would work for you guys at the moment, but for some it might be an option. I wouldn't let him go out alone.

Lynn, we have a two person kayak and we live on a lake. Last year it was great, but now I'm scared that he'd have an episode and capsize us. I don't know...He told me earlier today he really wants a project to keep him busy, but he has several already. I think the attention deficit that goes with this stuff is becoming an issue. The smaller the project, the better. I don't think I want to deal with a deconstructed boat in the garage for who knows how long. I just keep saying "uh-huh" and "we'll see".

Taking away the car keys was heartbreaking. My hb studied and studied for the DMV test to win back his license. He spent hours on it, but could never pass. I felt so guilty at insisting the neurologist write that letter, but I never wanted somebody's blood on my hands. I know I made the right choice. Two years later he still grieves when he remembers, but he rarely remembers. You've done the right thing.
