Post Re: Dr Gott 7/10/11
Thinking about this article again, I realize that it is exactly the kind of thing that had me so discouraged 8 years ago.

Over and over I encountered articles on the internet that cautioned that such-and-such a drug might help with x symptom but at the cost of making y symtom worse. It seemed hopeless, and since the PCP Coy had then thought it was hopeless, I had little reason to search out better help. If I hadn't lucked into seeing a doctor with the attitude that a very aggressive treatment plan is worthwhile (Brad Boeve) I think that the past 8 years would have been very different, and very much poorer quality, for us.

It is really very challenging to come up with the right balance among drugs. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth trying. I very grateful that Coy was not being treated by Dr. Gott.

Jeanne,
I tell people all the time there is always hope with the right treatment plan and if a person is lucky enough to find the correct doctor, plan, life can be good, I am glad you accomplished that for your Coy!

You keep telling them that, Irene! That is the most valuable message we can hear in the beginning, when there are so many discouraging, negative messages out there.
