 Interesting new issue
My client was diagnosed with LBD 2 years ago. In August it will be 2 years that I have been caring for her. About 4 months ago she started telling me that she was tired of all the reruns on TV, receiving duplicate magazines, the newspapers were all old news, etc. In other words, instead of forgetting things and they were new to her, everything was old news. She even thinks we see the same cars on the road, same people, even cats in people's windows every time we go out. I have not seen this addressed before and just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. It is not any real problem, just an interesting new phase we are going through. Thank you for any info. Marilyn

 Re: Interesting new issue
Hi Marilyn, We went through a phase where my husband would point to someone and tell me he had seen them earlier in a car next to us on the freeway, or that we had seen the same person in several locations in a day. Sometimes he felt the person had been following him, sometimes he was just amazed at how that person was everywhere we were. I hadn't had any experience with him having delusions at that point, it was before we got a diagnosis, so for quite some time I really believed he was seeing the same person everywhere. It was only after the paranoia became apparent that I realized he wasn't really seeing what he was telling me. Sher

 Re: Interesting new issue
Marilyn, I had forgotten, but Frank did see the same group every where we went. There would be 3-4 people, not always the same gender as before but he was amazed that they were always "here too". That was a couple years ago, we've gone on to bigger and better? things these days. Gerry

 Re: Interesting new issue
No, it's not a new issue.... It got to be a serious issue between Dale and me. His response to almost everything was, "I've seen that before" or "I've done that before." I really got so tired of it. It was as if his brain was always informing him that he would be bored with it if he was exposed to it again.

 Re: Interesting new issue
Just wanted you all to know I moved this topic that was in welcome area, into a area more appropriate for the topic, probably better for suggestions too as many people don't always look into the welcome area's !
We really need to stay in the area best fitting question or comment, just makes it hard for newcomers!
Thanks

Perhaps it's a way to "cover" for herself -- pretending as if everything is "old news" rather than admitting that she can't remember.

 Re: Interesting new issue
Or maybe, like my husband, there are two or three identical everythings: Houses, cars, wives, etc.!

Pat - you should get one of the other wives to clean or do other household chores you don't like!

 Re: Interesting new issue
Exactly! I don't even think he has Capgras any more. As far as I know there is only one of me now. I could be wrong, though.

 Re: Interesting new issue
I believe Ken has moved on from Capgras as well. Perhaps we should all chronicle the order in which the symptoms/manifestations happen(ed). If I had been more aware of WHAT was happening at the time, I would have. I wonder if we could determine any sort of timeline/ chronologic stage if we compare notes??? Sher

In December, Dale's delusions and hallucinations returned with a vengeance. His final downturn was only 3-1/2 months long. He went from completely mobile to virtually paralyzed in that time.
He passed away after two weeks in hospice. It was a total shock.

Thank you to everyone who replied. It always helps to know that there are others out there going through so much of the same thing and actually know what we are talking about when we have a question on something.Marilyn
