 newcomer from WA state This is an amazing discovery.What a blessing. I lost my dad to Alzheimer's in 2008. I live next door to my parents and was able to help my mom with his care at night and on the weekends. Alzheimer's runs heavily in my family, my grandma, dad, 2 uncles with another uncle in the early stages. I work as a private caregiver. 20 months ago I was asked to care for a dear lady with LBD. She had been diagnosed 2 months before. Up until that time I had never heard of LBD. There are many similarities to Alzheimer's as well as many differences. I thank you all so much for the opportunity to be a part of this. I always have questions as I go thru this with her and hopefully I might have an idea or two to pass along.

Re: newcomer from WA state Welcome to a wonderful forum! It's commendable that you are committed to increasing knowledge about this disease so you can better care for your client. It's a strange disease with many unique features. You will learn how to advocate for someone with LBD.
