Re: Hospice Leone, I haven't been posting lately but do read a few times a day and wanted you to know my heart and thoughts are with you and Dale. It's so sad, and the rest of us will have this, or a similar journey ahead of us that you will have helped us understand.

CG for hubby. started showing symptoms in 2000, at 55, diagnosed at with AD at 62, LB at 64.. vietnam vet.. has ptsd, which doubled the chances for dementia...sprayed with agent orange. showing some signs of parkinsons.

Re: Hospice - still breathing After more than 24 hours with a loud 'death rattle,' Dale is sleeping quietly this morning. I gave him medication about midnight last night. After no urine production all day yesterday, the bag is now half filled with a dark tea colored liquid. He has had nothing to drink since Monday.. so the body is allowing the remainder in his bladder to go.
I slept fitfully.... but I'll take naps today. His brother is coming from Fayetteville... It will take him about 10 hours to drive down.

Re: Hospice Oh Leone, my heart is with you and Dale. You are coming to the end of a journey where we will all end up with our LOs. My heart hurts for you and is also glad that the journey is just about done. Such a horrid disease this is! It hurts so many people.

Re: Hospice Your journey is coming to an end. The angels will take Dale under their wings and guide him home. Take pride in the good care you gave your LO, take good care of yourself and allow yourself plenty of time to grieve.

Re: Hospice Thanks, Dianne. I abandoned this thread toward the very end when it was clear that Dale was dying. Dale passed away on Wednesday, March 23 just before 7 am. I'm happy that he is free of pain.
