 Wheelchair cushions
I am new to the forum but have a question that I really need help with and if this isn't the appropriate place but you can guide me somewhere else, I'd appreciate it.
I am looking for those who have experienced using wheelchair (W/C) cushions. I want to prevent pressure sores on my 86 yr old mother w/LBD who is now essentially W/C bound (in the last stage) and there are soooooo many out there from cheap to very expensive. Hospice bought a foam/gel cushion 3" with Nylex cover for her but it's still too hard for her. Don't know whether the cover doesn't stretch, keeping the cushion tight inside and from expanding.
What are your recommendations, product or item # (if known), reasons you would recommend it, experiences you or someone you know has had, etc., etc.?
What cushions, manufacturers, internet stores I should stay away from?
Any and all information is helpful!
Much appreciated.......luannz

 Re: Wheelchair cushions
My husband's wheelchair cushion is about 4" thick and has a v-cut at the back where his coccyx sits. Not all pressure sores originate at the tail-bone but most do so keeping it off the chair is important.
