 Prevastatin
My husband, Mitch, was diagnosed with LBD after a horrendous emergency trip to the hospital upon arrival at DFW as we returned from a trip to Hawaii (a present from our son and daughter-in-law).He is currently on Aricept (half a 25 mg for a month and then increase to the 25 mg) and 25mg Serequel. His heart doctor allowed for him going off prevastatin for 6 wks as my husband felt it was the cause of many of his issues. He recently went back on the prevastatin and has had terrible diarrhea. I was concerned about the dementia factor with statins anyway and now the diarrhea. Does anyone have any information or experience with this drug. Also our new neurologist is with UTSouthwestern in Dallas. Dr. Dewey is his name. I would appreciate any feedback. We switched doctors when our first neurologist couldn't or wouldn't take the time to send my husband's records to the hospital when my husband was admitted in terrible state last month after returning from Hawaii. Thanks.

 Re: Prevastatin
My husband has been on lovastatin for at least six years. At first we thought it was causing muscular issues but, after taking him off for a time with no improvement, his doctor put him back on it. I question whether is serves any useful purpose at this point but it probably isn't doing any harm.
