Allergy meds for wheezing
Recently Ken has been wheezing a bit so I took him to the doc and after chest x-rays (Ken won't take in a deep breath when instructed for doc to listen to lungs) I was told his lungs look good and doc believes he has allergies that are causing the wheezing. Can anyone tell me what meds are safe for him? Thanks, Sher

I should think that any of the cortisone and albuterol inhalers would be fine as the systemic effects are minimal. Cortisone inhalers will help prevent wheezing due to allergies and albuterol is used only when wheezing occurs.

You could start with something rather tame such as loratadine 10mg (generic Claritan); it's an allergy med that has been around for awhile.
With Parkinson's and some related conditions, there can be shortness of breath. But SOB is different from wheezing.
