 hydrocodon
Hi, My father-in-law fell today. Its is not a pretty sight. His face looks like hamburger meat. Many stiches and a broken face bone. This was probably the 17th fall in the last year. My question is the doctor prescribed hydrocoden for pain. Doctor said it would not effect LBD. Eventhough he had never heard of the disease. Does anyone know if it will hurt him to take this pain medicine.
Thanks respond ASAP
Carol

 Re: hydrocodon
I don't know about the med -- hope someone else will have some input on that.
I'm concerned about the falling. What is being done to prevent that?

 Re: hydrocodon
It's probably as safe as any narcotic analgesic but it certainly will increase his risk for falls.

 Re: hydrocodon
Hydrocodone is an opioid analgesic. Like any medication, it can cause problems in anyone, having nothing to do with LBD. Best thing is to monitor closely.
As Jeanne indicates, 17 falls in a year is a lot. What's being done to prevent these falls?

Oh my - 17 falls & cuts requiring stitches and a broken bone! Like others have said, what is being done to prevent falls? Is your LO living at home alone? Using a walker? Using a wheelchair? Lynn
