 Parkinson's Seminar
I attended a PD seminar today: Parkinson's Disease: More than a Tremor, from the NW Parkinson's Foundation. It was very well attended with good, well-prepared speakers. Although I was disappointed that LBD was not discussed, I was glad to hear the neurologist address neuroleptic drug warnings. She stated that Seroquel could be used in PD but that Haldol, Risperdal, Zyprexa and Abilify should not.
There was also a very interesting presentation by a speech pathologist about the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Program, which has proved very successful in increasing voice volume in PD.
