 Re: Which team
I don't usually watch football, but I am from MA, so had the Patriots been playing I'd be watching it. Dr. P, I'll root for whatever team Mr B would have wanted.

 Re: Which team
Darth Vader was a sweet ad. I also liked the geezers in the retirement home.

 Re: Which team
IMHO, that was one of the worst sung national anthems ever.
Hmmm, it's 4 am.

 Re: Which team
LO was very happy the Packers won. We live in Packer country. Kinda hard not to show favorites. This was one time LO was alert and in the moment. Worth every minute to me to see him like that. Mary

 Re: Which team
Gail - I have to agree with you on the National Anthem singing, to say nothing of getting words wrong!

 Re: Which team
I've wondered for years why the National Anthem can't just be sung straight without torturing it.

 Re: Which team
I agree, Pat. When people sing our national anthem it seems just not right to change the muscial notes and it has never sounded good at all to me when a person does that. Luckily I didn't hear the whole thing this time!

I agree, too. When It comes to the National Anthem, I am a traditionalist. Nan

 Re: Which team
It's not "just" a song to take complete "artistic" license with (was that artistic?). But at least she didn't grab her crotch like Roseanne did--remember that?
As for America the Beautiful, nobody has ever done it like Ray Charles (well, we are Ray Charles' fans).

 Re: Which team
I guess I either didn't see the Roseann thing or had blocked it out of my memory. That's just so rude and crude, and look at how much money people are willing to pay for that sort of behavior (Michael Jackson in particular!).

 Re: Which team
My mother (now 94 years old this month) thought Roseanne was hysterically funny when she did that. She thought it was a wonderful send up of all the men who grab their crotches to bring attention to their "maleness." She said if men could do it Roseanne could do it. Crude, yes, but you never heard people criticize men for doing it...doctrine of fairness. Nan

 Re: Which team
Maybe I've led a sheltered life but I've watched a lot of sports events and can't remember a male grabbing his crotch while singing the National Anthem. I suppose Michael Jackson would have if he'd had the opportunity.
