Re: Denial or Dementia? Oh yes! And when we feel like destroying a room with a baseball bat, our inhibitions and sense of consequences kick in and we refrain from doing it. Imagine how often our LOs must feel like that, and they don't always have a means of refraining. What a sad, sad condition for all concerned.

Re: Denial or Dementia? The most uninhibited thing I did was throw a frozen loaf of bread across the kitchen at the wall. Nothing was damaged--not even the bread--and I felt a little better. I envy those who live in a really rural area where they can scream loudly. That would feel good. My neighbor, whose husband has FTD, screams in the car on the freeway.

Sometimes when I was totally frustrated with my dad's medical care, and so sad to see the awful condition he was in, I'd go back to his house with no one else there and just cry my eyes out in the shower. The shower felt good and I didn't even have to mop up the tears since I was in the shower!

Re: Denial or Dementia? I love the bread throwing and the fact that you were able to release a bit and not even the bread was damaged. I have screamed in the car, driven with the radio blaring etc. but I truly prefer laughter. Mom has recently developed an affinity for Saturday Night Live- and I watched some David Sedaris on youtube- yeah laughter!!
