Yesterday when I was caring for my mother she said "I should go out and get drunk every once in a while, don't you do that?" I nearly died.

One evening, my mother picked up a photo of my father in his youth and said to me, "This was my first husband. He was a good kisser."

My father died 30 years ago, when he was much too young, and Mother never remarried. I guess a good kisser would be a hard act to follow.

My mother told me yesterday that she had an identical twin! She seemed very pleased about it, so I didn't challenge it. I did hang a full length mirror in her hallway - perhaps this has something to do with the twin notion.

My mom told the morning caregiver that she had "tied one on last night", thats why she was so tired!! My mom hasn't had a drink in years!!

Johnny was watching the football game yesterday and asked, "How many are in the booth?" and before I could answer, he said, "Just your dad and two others?" I just said, "Yes, about three." But my dad has been dead since 1945, and even my step-dad died in 1968. Last night in bed, he said, "Get out of the bed." "Why?" "Because I can't breathe." I just love that man of mine!
