Post Bath lifts
We are thinking of purchasing a bath lift in hopes it will encourage Mom with her bathing. She has NEVER liked showers, so it is not surprising that she doesn't want to shower. However, she used to enjoy sitting in the tub. She is not strong enough to get in and out of a tub, though. She does fine sitting on her shower chair and swinging her legs over to get inside the shower, so I believe she could use a lift with Dad's or my help. Anyone have any experience with bath lifts? I'm speaking of the chair that lowers into the tub and raises itself back up. Thanks for any tips.

Post Re: Bath lifts
Donna,
I have not used a bath lift. I've seen them at care facilities, where they sit un-used. Have you considered bed baths? They can be as effective at cleaning and soothing as regular baths, but they are a lot safer and less stressful for everyone.
