He slept in this morning--the girls said they could not get him up. Very unusual for him. He is also hallucinating quite a bit. Unusual for morning--I'm wondering if he got his Seroquel last night. When we were getting him up he complained of pain in his thigh [after I mentioned only yesterday that he had not had that problem in two years!] and he accused the aide of being 'cruel and sadistic'.

When the nurse brought his meds she asked him how he was feeling this morning. He answered, "Apprehensive", but could not elaborate. I asked for Tylenol for him and by the time he had his 'brunch' he felt better. Then he had to have a BM and I couldn't get anyone to help get him on the toilet so he was incontinent [perhaps that was what he was 'apprehensive' about?] Then he had another large BM on the floor as we were lifting him off the toilet. I often wonder how much 'incontinence of stool' is just a result of slowness of the staff to act. But these girls have so many things to do for so many people there is probably no way they can respond to every light right away. At least at home we usually get him there in time unless he's having unusually soft stools.

Indeed, I was told that this wasn't considered "bowel incontinence."

Yes Leone, it is familiar. Fran does not sleep in PJ, just his underwear and a little while ago I had to take off the shirt. Only problem is I know he will wake me up in the middle of the night to put it back on.
