Equipment adjustments - share ideas about what works
Has anyone got any tricks they've used to "customize" medical equipment?
The best adjustment we have made has been to Mom's wheelchair. You know how the handles are never high enough (or low enough) to match the height of the person pushing the chair? It was killing our backs to bend lower to hold the handles.
My sister went to the bike shop and came home with some handles she mounted upright on the existing handles. We no longer have to bend over to push the chair and our backs are ever so much happier.
Bicycle parts are great, relatively low cost, materials for making those "custom" adjustments.
