Re: Transport chair and other medical eqpt.
Hi Marcia.... We have a very heavy wheelchair and Dale has been using it regularly since Thanksgiving. I bought the 15 pound transport chair because the wheelchair is too heavy for the car. However, Dale is now unable to remain on his feet. His limited mobility often means he cannot sit up in bed. Thanks for the bed suggestions.

Marcia, Just a word of caution here, don't let the full rails on a hospital give you a false sense of security because when these guys are determined to get out of bed they do, mine did on several occasions, I think the floor alarm is great for your situation !

Hi Irene,
I just wrote a reply to you, and suddenly lost it. If a similar one magically shows up, you'll understand: thanks for the advice. I know just what you mean.
Although his "escape" skills seem to have vanished, he will surprise every so often. The floor mat alarm is a great aid in being notified of a bed exit. I think the longer rails will just be one more help...hopefully.

Marcia, Sometimes the posts just disappear never to be seen again LOl!
My husband managed to crawl out the very bottom in that tiny area where there is no rail but I didn't have a floor alarm, I wish I had !

We tried the Transfer Board a couple of weeks ago and it did not work at all for us. Dale can't get the concept of grabbing it and his body would not slide on it. I returned it to the store.
