Pat,
I sold a house in Florida just weeks before Jim passed and the title office did except the DPOA but it was also entered into county records!
I guess each state is different !

Thanks everyone, It really is a scary thing to think that you've carefully planned for the future to find that what is the standard plan (POA) is not recognized by the government.
Fortunately, He was able to go with me to SS office and everything has been taken care of...(for now anyway ) LOL

I f I learn nothing else from this entire process I will be flexible!!!
