 Re: Just checking
Well, yours went through OK. Maybe nobody's posting.

 Re: Just checking
Usually when I see a lull, I assume that some of the multi-posts-a-day folks are posting on the new LBD-related Yahoo!Group.

 Re: Just checking
Yes, I am often at my computer for most of the day, and I take a break every so often to look for posts. I've been wondering where everyone went. If they were all in the upper Midwest, I can verify that they were likely out shoveling snow! But I know that's not the case.

 Re: Just checking
I check in here regularly. Somtimes it seems there are just lulls in the conversation. But I miss you all when there is a lack of posting. Smiles, Nan

 Re: Just checking
Maybe we should have a thread that is just for saying 'hi' when there is nothing really important to post. We could send each other smilies!

 Re: Just checking
H Leone, That is exactly what the respite and off topics area is for so there is a place for people to come if they just want to say hi or chat!

 Re: Just checking
Thanks for the gentle nudge, Irene. I haven't taken advantage of that area... and maybe I should.

 Re: Just checking
In particular, would this thread be appropriate for that off-topic area?

Re: Just checking Irene.... who is not well
Irene just informed us on another site that she has the flu and has been really sick for the past five days. She had a flu shot this season - but this bug is not the same virus as the shot.
Please join me in sending her a 'get well' message.
Get Well Soon, Irene.

 Re: Just checking
As a matter of fact yes this would have been a topic for the off topic area's but since I was checking to see if there was a problem with the site I wanted to make sure it was seen ! Thanks for pointing that out to me anyway!

 I am new
My mother was diagnosed with LBD 3 years ago. She was able to stay in her home with daytime care until November, 2010. My sister and I had agreed that when she need 24 hour care we would move her to an institution because of our inability to monitor her nighttime caregivers. She began to get worse at an alarming rate and we moved her to a Memory Care unit in a non-profit facility. We felt she was doing well, but the institution informed us she would need to move to "nursing care" because of her decreasing ability to toilet herself, bathe, dress, etc. She has been in nursing care for about 2 weeks, but I see her becoming increasingly paranoid, unkempt and fearful. Has anyone else had this experience? I am concerned that she might have been moved to a higher level of care because the facility needed to fill vacancies. Or is it the disease? I am an educated person, but feel I am losing control of my mother's care. Has anyone else had this experience?
