Post Seroquel
Big family conflict regarding the use of Seroquel.
My husband was diagnosed in 2003 with Parkinson's,
a year ago with Lewy Body Disease with Dementia.
What are your experiences with Seroquel?
Also, what physicians are there in Santa Barbara, California
who are Lewy Body Disease experts?

Welcome to the LBDA forums, sorry for your need to be here. As to the Seroquel question, sadly all drugs react differently for each LBD person but seroquel is used often, it is one of those things either a person can take it or they can't, each and every drug started should be started at a lower dose to see how it will work with the person.
As to the list of Doctors I am going to send in private, it is too large to send here on the forums.
Good Luck!

Please do a search of posts containing the word "Seroquel." You will see many on this. It seems that most LBDers tolerate Seroquel just fine but at least one people here were sent into serious tailspins (NMS) with one dose of Seroquel.

Another good place to educate yourself about the atypical antipsychotics is the Boeve Continuum paper on In addition, check out the ER wallet card and ER physicians' instructions for more than you ever wanted to know about this type of med.

My LO has been on Seroquel for several years with good results, however, what is good for one LBD person is not always good for another. Individuals with LBD are unique to themselves and their reactions to meds are unique also.

We are currently looking for another med.....Seroquel causes agitation in my mother.

I hear it works great for most and is the gold standard.

One dose of Seroquel (12.5 mg ) sent my husband into grotesque involuntary lunges. The doctor said he was allergic to it.
