Post I'm ba-a-a-a-ack!
Sorry, gang. It was too hard after Mom died to keep the conversation going. I even gave my "Meeting of the Minds" ticket that year to a staff member at Mom's dementia unit. It's been two years now and I'm finding ways to get more involved. Advocacy seems to be my niche, though I am having a few cognitive problems myself that affect speech. (just cognitive issues, NOT dementia yet) I've retired, so I have the time to put into it.

I've missed you guys! I can't promise to visit frequently, but know that I think of you often. I even send people to the Discussion Forums when I think it would help.

Kate (Cared for Mom for years before anyone else noticed the symptoms, but the last year of her life was rough and we needed to place her in an SNF, where she passed in February 2012)

Kate - welcome back to the forum! I'm one of the moderators, and relatively new here - wish I'd discovered the forum sooner. Lost my Dad to LBD this year, and now I'm determined to continue to bring awareness to the disease.

Molly - Forum moderator. My dad's career as a geologist was interrupted by PD and LBD in 2009. I was a respite caregiver for my dad (lived out of state, but visited many times a year). He passed away peacefully in April 2014.

Nice to meet you, Kate! Like Molly, I'm new-ish to the forum. Your experience with LBD is a great resource for those who write in. Glad that you've recovered enough and are willing to donate your time through advocacy work. Thanks for directing traffic toward the forum! AnneAAA

AnneA -- Forum Moderator; also daughter, caregiver, and patient advocate for Jean, who died of LBD in January, 2013, at age 91.
