Post Abbreviations
I may have a stupid question, but I have been having difficulty understanding many posts because they use so many abbreviations. I don't know what they stand for: LO, LMF, SNF, ALF, etc....

Post Re: Abbreviations
LO=Loved One; SNF=Skilled Nursing Facility; ALF=Assisted Living Facility; LMF=? I can't think of anything that would be appropriate to post here. :lol:

Pat [68] married to Derek [84] for 38 years; husband dx PDD/LBD 2005, probably began 2002 or earlier; late stage and in a SNF as of January 2011. Hospitalized 11/2/2013 and discharged to home Hospice. Passed away at home on 11/9/2013.

Here are some others you may not know that you didn't point out:

CG = caregiver(s)

MIL = Mother in law
FIL = Father in law
BIL - Brother in law
SIL - Sister in law

Then there are the various other diseases which can be easily confused with LBD - PSP, FTD, VD (as in vascular dementia), etc.

Lynn, daughter of 89 year old dad dx with possiblity of LBD, CBD, PSP, FTD, ALS, Vascular Dementia, AD, etc., died Nov. 30, 2010 after living in ALF for 18 months.
