Women's basketball coach DX'd with EOAD
This is an incredible news story about the women's basketball coach at the Univ of TN who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's Disease (EOAD) in May at Mayo Rochester. She will continue as the coach though responsibility for calling plays during games will be distributed to others. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/co ... story.html

Re: Women's basketball coach DX'd with EOAD
as this is a local storyâ¦.for meâ¦watching itâ¦.
I think her national exposure can a be a great thing for people like meâ¦.
if she can hold it together for awhile and be somewhat productiveâ¦.
if her handlers handle her wellâ¦..
then it could help early onsetters lead more productive lives for longerâ¦.
on the other handâ¦if it goes badlyâ¦..
it could help early onsetters get more help soonerâ¦..
soâ¦.what I thinkâ¦.however it goesâ¦..shining the sun on this should be goodâ¦.
I think most of the pain for the early onsetter is in darkness, in hiding, in fear, in losing control all at onceâ¦.
soâ¦maybe she will have a controlled descentâ¦.hopefully those on the ropes will be gentleâ¦.

Re: Women's basketball coach DX'd with EOAD
This article really hit home with me. In addition to my moms LBD, my cousin Mark was diagnosed with EOAD two years ago at age 56. Watching his struggle and the love and support of his wife and children humbles me. Ellen
