I really want to thank everyone for helping me stop moms diarrhea. You guys have been more helpful than all the doctors at Kaiser!!!! I hope they read this!!! Now she has the same constipation problem. I think the biggest problem was the metamucil that I have been giving her for 8 years. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of types of food to help with constipation.---Jack

Jack, I give my husband an Activia yogurt every day as well as whole grain bread and cereal, fruits and vegetables and plenty of water. I also give him a stool softener every night [docusate sodium, or 'Colace']. He has a soft [large] BM every other day.

Jack, Frank takes two stool softner laxatives, BJ brand, it keeps him regular. I have always had a problem until I started drinking Senna Leaf tea each day. I gave some to an elderly friends who had a severe problem and she is now regular. I get it at a health food store, it comes in bulk but the bags are so much earier. Good luck with your search.
